ABOUT US
The Ukrainian Center of Psychology THE SOUL is a professional association of psychologists of various fields, created for the purpose of providing psychological assistance to people.
The Soul "Dusha" Ukrainian Psychology Center was created on February 2, 2021 as an initiative union of psychologists who practice in various directions (psychoanalysis, psychotherapy, Jungian analysis, scheme therapy, psychodrama, dance-motor and body-oriented therapy).
Since 2023, we have been working as the Public Organization "Ukrainian Center of Psychology "Dusha".
Our team consists of 4 psychologists - Oleksandra Shymanova, Maria Vynnytska, Maryna Yakhno and Iryna Royenko. We are all in different parts of the world - Oleksandra - Belgium, Maria - Singapore, Marina and Iryna - Ukraine, but we work together, united by one goal and mission.
Purpose and mission
Since the beginning of the war, the priority of our activity is to support Ukrainians in the process of experiencing war trauma, psychological support in the work of grieving, and assistance in recovery and building a future life.
The mission of our center is to help Ukrainians walk the path from the trauma of war, grief and loss to recovery and post-traumatic growth.
We want to do our best to overcome the split in the souls of Ukrainians and society. To unite and restore the integrity of each individual and the nation as a whole.
Team
Activity
Before the war, we worked as a Psychology Center and held many psychological events of various formats in Kyiv:
With the beginning of the war, we reformatted our activities into a Crisis Center and began to develop and implement projects aimed at overcoming war trauma among Ukrainians - Crisis counseling and support groups, Meetings with the Soul, Ukrainian Circle.
We started our cooperation with international organizations. Joined training programs on dealing with grief and loss (EKR), took part in a colloquium dedicated to the mental health of Ukrainians in front of an audience from the USA, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore and other countries of the world.
Implemented projects
Crisis center
In February 2022, we transformed from the Soul Development Center into The Soul Crisis Center. We have helped all war-affected people maintain their mental health, overcome trauma and make difficult decisions.
In 2022, we conducted about 100 psychological consultations for women, men, parents with children who needed help. We did this for free for people and with the support of our international sponsors.
Group support
In January 2023, we reopened our Crisis Center in a new format, conducting individual and group sessions with people.
We invited 5 more psychologists to our team, which enabled us to work with refugees and displaced persons outside the country.
A number of live groups were held in different countries, and individual consultations remained relevant.
In January-March 2023 alone, we held more than 100 online sessions.
Meetings with the Soul
In the fall of 2022, we launched a series of psychological support groups "Encounters with the soul" - every Saturday at 11:00 people could join us online via Zoom for free group therapy.
Each meeting was dedicated to a certain topic, and aimed at helping people to overcome their difficult feelings and emotions, make important decisions, share what is happening in their lives, and get support from each other and from our psychologists.
